“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Viktor Frankl

Therapy for Couples

I offer therapy to a diverse range of couples. Issues of trust, fidelity, and communication can affect the stability within a relationship. In therapy we discuss, the values, stressors and growth potential of the couple system. The aim is to work collaboratively towards reaching the couple goals. I really enjoy working with couples and helping them to grow and heal their relationships.

Challenges we face:

Trust

Communication issues

Parenting

Opening up in the relationship

Trauma & Grief

Fidelity

Divorce / Separation

“Lack of communication can drive a spike between two people wider than any physical distance.”

– Mark W Boyer

How Do I Know If This Is Right For My Partner And I?

Couples therapy is helpful to learn how to communicate more effectively, develop better conflict resolution skills, and increase emotional connections. Couples therapy also helps partners develop a deeper understanding of each other’s needs and feelings, leading to improved intimacy and trust.

I provide a safe and supportive environment where couples can express their feelings and concerns without judgement.

What can be expected during our first session?

Our first session will be used to get to know each other and gain an understanding of the challenges your relationship is facing. It is important to understand your motivation for coming to therapy, and together we will unpack your expectations and desired results.

What is couples therapy?

Couples therapy, also commonly referred to as marriage counselling or relationship therapy, is a form of psychotherapy that helps couples overcome conflicts and improve their relationship. The goal of couples therapy is to help couples identify and resolve issues that are negatively impacting their relationship, while also improving communication, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. Couples therapy is a collaborative process that involves both partners working together to identify and address areas of conflict and tension within their relationship. During therapy sessions, couples are encouraged to openly communicate their thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment. The therapist acts as a neutral third-party, helping couples to identify negative patterns of behaviour and communication that may be contributing to their problems.
